Broadway Posters

These three poster designs were made in October of 2022 in Typography I, to advertise Broadway plays using only text and keyboard symbols. The Lion King, The Phantom of the Opera and Wicked are all portrayed using the main symbol of each created in text. Each design is successful in it's own right, despite following a similar simple design. Information is shown hierarchically, allowing viewers to focus on the important information whilst grabbing their attention and drawing them in.

Up Close Examination

Seen in detail, every element of the poster is created using text and type. This includes the borders, frame, and obviously the symbol for each respective play. Despite the simple & effective formula for each poster, the color palette and symbol helps each to stand out on it's own and attract viewer's eyes and attention.

Type Sample Sheet

This simple text sample sheet displays fonts that work well with each other, complimenting each for a display of information hierarchy. Bely, the Display font at the top, accurately portrays the excitement of an amazing Broadway performance.
